About Us

Who We Are

The mission of the Riddle Hospital Auxiliary is “to serve and support Riddle Hospital”. We accomplish this by raising funds through the Auxiliary's events and businesses, recruiting volunteers for the hospital and by promoting Riddle Hospital within the community.

We are a team of men and women from the community from a variety of backgrounds and traditions, possessing a multitude of skills and talents.

In addition to lobby sales several times per month, our major fundraisers are the Man O'War Gala and the Tree of Lights.

The Auxiliary also operates two businesses: The Thrift Shop (a consignment and resale shop) and The Merry Token Gift Shop located in the Hospital.

Volunteering in The Riddle Hospital Auxiliary is an enjoyable and rewarding experience. The work we do helps to raise funds that directly benefit Riddle Hospital and the community. Every department of the hospital has been supported by the Auxiliary's hard work and generosity over the years.

Governed by a General Board, our Auxiliaries include: The Associated Auxiliaries reports into The Riddle Healthcare Foundation.

Our History

The term "auxiliary" is derived from the Latin noun, "auxilium," meaning, "help." Thus the auxiliary stands as a supplemental organization providing service to the hospital. To read more, please see our history and the role of Samuel D. Riddle in the creation of the hospital.
